Road Recycling

Milled asphalt commonly known as RAP can be reintroduced into asphalt plants reducing the amount of virgin material being required from rock quarries.

The bitumen can also be recycled reducing the amount of new product being introduced which is now becoming more and more significant every day, right around the world. In addition to the direct savings from the speedier construction process and lower dollar cost of road recycling (compared to reconstruction), the environmental benefits of recycling pavements include:

  • Saving of valuable quarried materials (a finite resource).
  • Reducing energy usage, noise and emissions.
  • Saving of tipping costs.
  • Reducing stress on landfill sites.
